       headed down to my great niece's naming day today, so congratulations to her! Not much time for a shot, but I did spy this little fella outside my sisters house.

365 Challenge - Day 294

Afternoon all,

   Hope the weekend is treating everyone well so far. It is very damp today, lots of mist and moisture in the air....clinging to the spiders web outside. Interesting.

Result.....

I included this one as I just about managed to focus on the branches of the tree through the water drop!

I have to say, it was really tricky getting these shots out as sharp as possible. Working with a standard tripod head and macro isn't easy!

   The fiancee has been back less than a day, and already she is providing me with photo inspiration!

It just took me bloody ages to clone out the little tube that goes into the bottle!

    Phew it is a late one tonight! BUT the fiancee flies home tonight, and boy I cannot wait!

Anyway, when my ideas run out, the macro lens steps in.

365 Challenge - Day 291

Evening all,

     So I wanted to try out some different lighting angles, get used to how it effects faces etc., learn mote and all that. Sadly, my normal model (the fiancee) isn't here, so you have to put up with my face!

I guess it is good to be the other side of the camera once in a while.

Result....

This is with flash straight on, very flat, not nice really. Causes lot's of shadows under my chin.

Flash was off to my left hand side, pointing down slightly. Better, very moody. The eyes are quite dead as there is no light in them. 

Flash still off to my left, on to my face, straight on. I like the half shadow, and there is light in the eye too.

Again, flash to the left, more of a 45degree angle to my face, trying to light more of my face up. Right eye still has no light in it though

Flash held up high pointing down. Large shadows under the eyes, and the mouth (never knew my mouth protruded so far?!)

Flash off to my right side this time, another half shadow.

I think my favorite is number 3. What do you think the best lighting angle is? Let me know in the comments!
