365 Challenge - Day 182

Good evening!

Welcome to a special post that marks the HALF WAY mark through my challenge!

I can't quite believe I have made it through 6 months of taking a photo a day. And not only have a manage to take a photo a day, but I have also managed to post it almost every day too!

It has been harder than expected, I have to say. Trying to keep a fresh and interesting photo each day is a real challenge. And some days I don't do that well. :)

But thank you for keeping with me for the last 6 months regardless of quality.

Here is to the next 6 :D

Back to today's photo - we took advantage of the rare warm weather and had a BBQ.

Result........

Camera - f/4.5, ISO 200, shutter 1/40. Post - cropped, drop brightness and increased contrast.

Camera - f/5.6, ISO low (not sure of exact number), shutter 1/320. Post - cropped, drop brightness and increased contrast, adjusted exposure to bring out the other background clouds too.

There is a plant outside that is flowering beautiful pink roses at the moment (I took a photo of one the other day) and I had to take one again today!

Good morning!

Early post today as I am in London this evening, rocking out at a gig!

Abstract is the order of the day.......

Result......

Camea - f/1.8, ISO 200, shutter 1/400. Post - cropped (to bring the lower left hand curve into the corner of the frame) bumped contrast and brightness (to try a 'dirty' look) and colour curve tweak.

365 Challenge - Day 178

Good....night?!

Pretty late post tonight - sorry about that! Anyway....on the drive home tonight there was a rather interesting slice of colour across the almost black clouded sky....

Result.....

Camera - f/2.8, ISO 200 shutter 3.6 seconds (all on an improvised tripod...the roof of the car!). Post - darkening to the top, straightened up, bump to contrast and brightness, and a little colour curve tweak.

Camera - f/2.8, shutter 1.6 seconds, ISO (same tripod as above!) Post - straightened up, and a tweak to brightness and contrast. I wanted to leave it a little more natural then the one above.

Hello there!

Bit rushed tonight, trying to get sorted for some shoots I have coming up tomorrow and Staurday, so a very rushed shot. Not 100% happy with it, but there we go!

Camera - ISO 2500(!) shutter 1/4000, (didn't realise, could have lowered the ISO) f/5.6. Post - crop, and tweaks to brightness and colour.

Getting in to the car this morning, I spotted a beautiful pink rose, so I ran back in and grabbed my camera!

Hey everyone!

Tonight's photo is a little different, it is a photo AND a trick that I want you guys to try out for yourselves.

What will you need:

some paper clips.
a glass of water.

The aim is to get a paper clip to float on the water, and NOT sink. It must be a whole, and un-bent paper clip that floats on the water.

It should look like this.....

So go get trying, and post your results here......if you manage to do it.

Pretty late post tonight - busy day today! Went to a pet store to buy some fish - so I took the chance to grab my photo for the day - courtesy of my Fiancees iPhone.

Note - I am not sure on any of the camera settings, the EXIF's from the iPhone never seem 'true'.

Welcome to the weekend! Trying to get a shot tonight, racking my brains - as usual. So I went 'abstract'

Result....

Camera - shutter 1/320, f/3.2, ISO 200. Post - I worked on 2 versions of the original, setting one up for the foreground, and one for the background. Merged them together.

I took the shot this morning. Bit of an odd one, but I like it. I was looking round the garden, and noticed how a shaft of light came through from a broken piece of fencing. It cast light on a pile of coloured petals.

A double processed picture of the local church.

Result....

Camera - f/5, shutter 1/400, ISO 800. Post - I took one version of the photo and darkened it to bring out the clouds. Then I pasted the two together to balance the foreground and the sky. After that a little colour curve tweak was all!

Absolutely fantastic day today at Thorpe Park with the fiancee! Got to ride all the coasters (a few 2 or 3 times) and scared myself stupid!

 This is Stealth. 0-80 mph in 1.8 seconds. Reaches 205ft. Extreme stuff!
